A brand is simply the idea that it conjures in someone’s mind. A feeling. An association. A sense. A memory. 

We like to think of our brand design as shipbuilding. We will, with our clients, design a vessel that embodies the promise of a company and its product(s). The vessel must be capable of taking on the intent of the organization and communicating the utility of a product or service. It can be, and often is, expressed as a visual mark, a complement of colors and type and a voice or statement. A brand that we design is built to express the product or service promise, to take immutable purchase in someone’s mind, and to serve as a touchstone that is ever-present in the transactional, regular communications of a company. 

Our branding process includes strategizing, quantifying, and qualifying stakeholder and audience requirements, creating product or company names, executing logo and brand visual identity systems design (typography, usage, color, photographic, and infographic style), and crafting voice and tone frameworks for our clients. 

Further, is + at manages some clients’ brands. This work includes serving as diligent stewards in designing and maintaining systems that provide the tools and resources necessary to many stakeholders who are expected to effectively communicate a brand with a unified and cohesive voice in the marketplace.
